In an increasing number of circumstances,
it is convenient to use consumer or prosumer video displays
in place of high grade professional picture monitors. An example
of this may be the use of consumer TV sets as monitors in audience
participation studio recordings. If the available feeds are
SDI signals however, this could be a problem.
The DA602 offers a practical solution by providing an SDI to
composite and RGB conversion in a convenient package.
The SDI input is via a BNC connector and the composite and RGB
outputs are fed via a standard SCART connector. The unit is
powered via a 2.5mm DC connector (screwlock). Pin 16 on the
SCART is identified to +5V via 75 ohms in order to facilitate
automatic switching equipment to SCART RGB inputs.
Two power supplies are available. One is an in-line type with
IEC inlet (Mains cable not included), the other is a plug-in
type, with interchangeable pins for UK/Euro use. Both have screwlock
DC plugs. An in-line SCART socket is also available. |
