The current range comprises; specialist switchers, monitors, signal conversion and audio engineering tools, e-mediavision.com will be introducing further additions to this range throughout 2003.The broadcast toolkit range has been designed for engineers by engineers for problem solving solutions often found in the field. The current range includes-
DA602 SDI to RGBS/CVBS converter module
A simple, affordable, miniature SDI to RGBS and composite video conversion in a SCART plug. Allows for SDI monitoring in RGB quality, using consumer televisions and professional monitors, and an economic SDI interface for large screen displays such as Plasma screens and LCD computer monitors. The DA602 features 4 x over sampling DAC’s and filters for high quality picture display. The 601/656 SDI input is equalised for up to 100 meters (300 feet) coax cable and is light and portable for field use. The DA602 also provide power on pin16 to auto switch European consumer televisions to auto switch into RGB display mode. DA602-EA version provides the ability to monitor embedded audio.
AD601 CVBS or RGBS to SDI converter module
Simple, affordable, miniature PAL /NTSC CVBS or RGBS to SDI conversion in a SCART plug. Provides the ability to easily obtain high quality SDI outputs from DVD’s, Set Top Boxes and consumer VCRs. With auto switched inputs, select between 3-line PAL decoder and RGB source, 525 line NTSC version with YUV inputs. AD601-EA version provides conversion of analogue audio and embedding into SDI audio groups.
HDSDI –AD292/296 HD signal monitoring converter:
Cost effective 292M/296M HDSDI converter with analogue RGBHV or Y, Cr, Cb outputs for HDSDI component monitoring, using suitable XGA computer displays. Provides an economic interface for large screen HD displays or projectors and features 2 x over sampling DAC’s and filters for a high quality picture display.
POCMON – SDI/Composite Video Auto Switch Portable Monitor
Portable, slim, rugged battery powered field monitor, 3.3 inch high brightness, wide viewing angle TFT display housed in IP65 weather proof alloy /rubber case. The monitor features auto power on when a signal is present on either the SDI or composite video BNC inputs. The monitor is available in two versions, a 625/PAL composite/SDI or 525/NTSC format inputs. Full adaptive SDI cable equalization to 350 meters (950 feet), 4 x over sampling DACs and filters for high quality image reproduction. Light and portable with a back mounted hook and loop fastener and a shatter / knock proof TFT screen protection with scratch resist and anti-glare coating for outdoor use. The monitor features a 234 x 600 pixel LCD TFT display, perfect for outside broadcast and engineering rack rooms, all weather operation with long battery life.
AM1602 Audio Switcher Module For Multiviewers
The AM1602 has been designed for system applications that utilise multiviewers for monitoring multiple SDI signals with embedded audio. Typically, with most multiviewers the embedded audio is not passed through onto the SDI output of the multiviewer.
The AM1602 provides a solution for systems, which require that the embedded audio information be preserved for use further down the system chain. The AM1602 provides 16 x BNC, SDI inputs, each input has a passive loop through output. Inputs are equalised for 350

metres and there are two main reclocked outputs. Signal strength confidence LEDs are provided on the selected input. Control of the AM1602 is via a GPI interface.
The AM1602 is intended to be easily retro fitted to existing installations and is 100mm in depth, 2RU 19-inch rack mount fixing with integral power supply.
AM1602-MA Audio Switcher with Integral Audio Monitoring
The AM1602-MA is essentially the same as the AM1602 switcher only module but with built in audio monitoring. The AM1602-MA provides 16 SDI inputs with buffered loop outs, embedded audio contained within any SDI signal input to the switcher can be selected for local audio monitoring via the built in stereo high quality speakers or via the headphone output. The system provides front panel visual indication of audio activity within any group (1 to 4) and the audio can be selected for monitoring via the front panel selection switches in either mono or stereo mode. The system also provides an option to obtain AES/EBU or decoded analogue audio outputs.
Straight-Eight 8 channel SDI Audio Embedders and De-embedders
Low cost, high quality 8 channel (24/48) SDI audio embedders with 8 monitoring digital to analogue converters, provides economic 8 or 16 channel 48K 24 bit audio routing using a single coax cable. Applications include audio linking multitrack machines to VCRs, routing multichannel surround or multilingual TV audio tracks. The unit is light, portable and features a headphone output for local monitoring.
Flat –Four 8 channel AES/EBU A to D’s and D to A’s
The flat four, features state of the art bitstream converters, dynamic range up to 120dB and are an ideal replacement for older, bulkier low performance audio codec’s.
Both the Straight-Eight and Flat-Four are compact, plug and go items, 1RU rack mount or stand alone operation, the units feature analogue monitoring outputs and audio activity LEDs on front panels. The units support balanced and un-balanced AES/EBU inputs and outputs, with fully equalised, EDH supported, 525/625-line 270Mbit video. The units can be easily cascaded to carry up to 16 channels of 24-bit audio on each SDI channel. Full processing for all audio, including parity, channel status and end user data for metadata applications, the products feature low and stable latency, both for video and for all audio channels, even when cascaded. A to D reference input options: SDI/Analogue video, AES/EBU audio, 48K word clock or internal crystal reference. The D to A locks with sample rates 28k to 54k and auto pre-emphasis, BNC word clock outputs and confidence LEDs are included.
