e-mediavision.com wins Gold with Broadcasters at Olympics

Amsterdam, IBC, 2004:- SBS (Seoul Broadcasting System) Korea was a winning broadcaster in Greece following the purchase of a full POINT system with multiple screen controls for their Olympic 2004 IBC control Room.

The POINT was delivered, installed and commissioned within two days of receiving the order from SBS.

POINT was used throughout the Olympics starting with the opening soccer match between South Korea and Euro 2004 Champions Greece, which was viewed by record numbers in Korea and Greece.

Kash Acharya, managing director of e-mediavision.com, said, “The SBS presenters found the system to be extremely simple and versatile in its range of tools and effects which enhanced the sports broadcasts and viewers’ enjoyment.”

The POINT was the choice of SVT (Sveriges Television, Sweden). A system, installed in time for the Olympics was used throughout the Games for their broadcasts.

POINT systems have also been chosen by MNET (South Africa’s Main Stream Sports Broadcaster), KTV (Kuwait) which featured a four touch screen POINT system, as well as BSKYB-Sky Sports who added to their existing stock of POINT systems in time for the 2004 soccer season’s curtain raiser, Community Shield match between Manchester United and Arsenal.

The BBC has two POINT systems which were first used at the Grand National - the UK’s leading horse racing event. MBC (Middle East Broadcast, Dubai) also installed a POINT system featuring dual screen controls including POINT’s Plasma touch screen interface.
