POINT’s the way for Sky Italia
E-mediavision.com POINT broadcast graphics TV illustrator system
has been chosen by Sky Italia (Newscorp) for enhancing its
sports TV coverage. A number of POINT systems are to be utilised
both in the OB (outside Broadcast) TV coverage allowing the
presenter / journalist to explain tactical moves with graphics
using a simple touch screen interface located at the gantry.
E-mediavision.com pioneered the way to use simple CAT5 cabling
to interface the touch screen at the gantry with the graphics
computer located in the outside broadcast truck, allowing for
a quick and simple installation. For the main studio based
programme another POINT system is utilised but with this time
a presenters touch screen as well as large plasma based touch
screen (for in shot use) are utilised. E-mediavision.com managed
to interface the USB touch screen system over a distance of
100 meters using the existing IT cabling infrastructure. The
complete system was built and installed in record time ready
for the start of the coming football season.
