Point-HD Trainer - Telemedicine Applications

The Point-HD system combined with the PHD-2012 allows for real time remote collaboration between consultants and surgeons operating in theatre.

Laparoscopic as well as other medical imaging systems can relay real time video to a remote consultant, the remote consultant equipped with the Point-HD can then review, pause or rewind on the live video feed, annotate over the video and send that back into theatre for the surgeon to view on a separate screen, along with two way audio communications this solution allows for real time assistance and fast response in various medical scenarios.

The Point-HD system can be interfaced with any communication infrastucture, video conferencing, fibre, HD-SDI to allow real time collaboration between the two points.

The annotated video along with audio can be captured as a video clip or a series of still images.

Medical Mentoring and Teaching Applications

The system concept described above can be further extended for use within a medical lecture theatre to allow students to interact live with the remote surgeon.
